Kidambi Srikanth, 25-year old Badminton Player from India became world No.1 in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings on Thursday. He replaced Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen with 76895 points over 75470 points of Axelsen. Here’s a tweet by Virender Sehwag congratulating Srikanth.

Srikanth is the second Indian after Saina Nehwal to get top ranking and first male player to achieve this.

Srikanth bagged mixed-team gold on ongoing Gold Coast Games and will also feature in men’s single format in that event.

Srikanth had also won prestigious awards like Padma Shri and Arjuna Award for Badminton.
